PNG is the right target when the picture has sharp edges, type, or a transparent background. JPEG would fill holes with white and soften text. This converter draws your WebP onto a canvas and exports PNG, so transparency stays intact.
PNG is lossless. The file may be larger than the WebP original — that is expected.
The first frame is exported as a still PNG. For animation, use a GIF converter.
